Having also spent a year at the Oxford Department of Education, soon after ordination he moved into School Chaplaincy work in Oxford and, later, at Winchester. For a while, he was Examining Chaplain to the Bishop of Winchester. In 1987 he moved to Cambridge as Vicar of the University Church. He was later Rural Dean of Cambridge. In 1994 he was appointed Bishop Suffragan of Lynn, and in 1998 came to St. George’s as Dean. In October 2001 he took up the additional responsibilities of Bishop to Her Majesty’s Forces. For many years he has been closely involved with the selection of candidates for ordination, and with the inspection of theological colleges, courses and schemes. He has been governor of a number of schools and colleges. He is an Honorary Fellow of Girton College, Cambridge. He contributes to the Clergy Course programmes at St. George’s House, and each year hosts a consultation at the House for Lord Lieutenants.

Canon John White worked for the Civil Service and as a school-teacher prior to attending the University of Hull and the College of the Resurrection, Mirfield. After a period of parish and university chaplaincy work, Canon White concentrated on clergy education. He was Assistant Director of Post Ordination Training in the Diocese of Ripon (1971-1973) and Chaplain (Vice Principal) of the Northern Ordination Course (1973-1982). He was appointed a Canon of St. George’s Chapel in 1982 and, in addition to his responsibilities on Chapter, he was Warden of St George’s House from 1999 to July 2003. Since moving to Windsor, he has held a number of visiting posts in the USA and Mexico and is the European Deputy for the Anglican Diocese of Mexico. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and has a number of published works. Canon White was awarded an LVO in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2004.

Canon John Ovenden was educated at Borough Road College of Education, University of London, The Open University and King’s College, London where he studied for his MA. After teaching music and languages for five years, he went on to Salisbury and Wells Theological College where he gained his Diploma of Theology from Southampton University. For 12 years Canon Ovenden was Vicar of St Mary’s, Primrose Hill in London and prior to that was Precentor of Ely Cathedral. He is interested in multi-faith work and is a member of the Jewish/Christian Executive. He organises the annual St George’s Parish Conference for Incumbents and Church Wardens at St George’s House.

The Reverend Dr Hueston Finlay read Engineering and Theology at Trinity College, Dublin and pursued his doctoral studies at the University of London. Following ordination, he worked in the cathedral parish of St. Canice in the County of Kilkenny, where he acted as Bishop's Vicar, Diocesan Librarian and Diocesan Registrar. While there he taught theology in the country's largest boarding school and lectured on ethics and doctrine for the diocesan adult education programme. He then moved to Cambridge when he was appointed as Curate to the University Church and Chaplain to Girton College. More recently he has served as Dean of Chapel, Director of Studies in Theology, and Tutor at Magdalene College Cambridge. He has also held an Affiliated Lectureship at the University of Cambridge, where he taught doctrine. He was appointed a Canon of St George's Chapel in 2004 and Warden of St George's House in 2008.
